Barring last minutes change of power game, Prince Oluwaseyi Oluwarotimi Mulero will become the next monarch of Ibese land in Ogun State.
City Pride learnt from an indigene of Ibese, who would not want his name in print, that the council of kingmakers has so far found the conducts and dispositions Prince Mulero so impressive among other contenders for the ancient stool since the exercise to select the new king started some months back.
Prince Oluwarotimi Mulero is the candidate of Omiyale, Olokojobi and Oloko ruling house of Ibese. The candidates for the new king were originally five but three of them have been screened, leaving Prince Mulero and one other contestant battling for the traditional seat.
On March third, prince Oluwarotimi was presented to the kingmakers in council, who without fear or favour indicated their preference for Prince Mulero whose conducts and carriage that are satisfied with. Among the kingmakers that attended the council meeting were Chief Tajudeen Adewuyi, Somofe of Ibeseland, who is the chairman of the council; Chief Yisa Alagbe, Oluwo of Ibese, Chief David Tella, Jagun of Ibese; Chief Kamilu Taiwo, Elemo of Ibese and Chief Adeleke Ibikunle, Ekarun of Ibese who also doubles as the secretary to the council of kingmakers.
Others are Chief Solomon Durojaye, Agbaakin of Ibese; Chief Dele Olakunleyin, Balogun of Ibese; Chief Ayinla Salako, Seriki of Ibese and Chief (Mrs) E. O. Idowu, Otun Iyalaje of Ibese.
Easygoing and thoroughbred Prince Oluwarotimi was born and brought up in Ibeseland. He kicked off his educational career at UAMC Primary School, Ibese, before proceeded to Asakanran Grammar School, Ibese before the ‘homeboy’ left his land of birth to Lagos State,
In Lagos, Prince Mulero sought further education at the Lagos State University, where he studied Business Administration.
Some of the Kingmakers in Council, who spoke to the City Pride, said if good manner, nice disposition and humility were all it takes to become the monarch of Ibeseland that Prince Oluwaseyi Oluwarotimi Mulero is already the Oba-elect.
City Pride knows that whoever the Kingmakers choose as the Oba-elect will still wait for his staff of office to be presented by the Ogun State governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun.
