The Senator representing Anambra South at the Nigerian Senate, Mr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah has assured Nigerians of the National Assembly’s independence.
He said the Senate is performing beyond expectations as it has achieved some feats that could not be achieved several years ago.
The CEO of Capital Oil made this disclosure at the 2019 Harvest celebration of the Anglican Church which held at the Archbishop Vining Memorial Anglican Church, GRA, Ikeja Lagos.
Senator Ubah, at the event disclosed that he is a committed worshipper of God because he believes in Him.
“I believe in God’s existence and I also believe in giving back to God through Harvest programmes like this because He is the giver of life,” he said.
Speaking on the performance of the Senate, Ubah said the Senate can not be described as a rubber stamp because in the last 20-years in the country, the senate has been able to bring out N1.5billion fund that has always been there and nobody ever touched.
“ That was the first and the fastest bill in the Senate so far and the bill that is going to give Nigeria N1.5billion every year; so how can that come from a rubber stamp Senators? The Senate is working so hard to serve Nigerians and make our country great”.
He further added that the passage of the Freedom Of Speech Bill by the National Assembly is a gradual thing which will eventually be done.
“ I agree that the bill is one that should be passed expeditiously and I am sure that by the grace of God , it’s going to be passed, Ubah Concluded.
